"Confluence" Opens April 10th at Satellite Gallery

Confluence: a place where things merge or flow together. This is the theme for our upcoming show. The concept is bringing in visiting artists that merge together with a local artist. This concept brings perspectives that we may not get here in Eastern. So we thought it was a good idea.

We will be featuring the work of Nathan Orton (Portland, OR), Maria Kondratiev (New York), and our own Eric Coon.

Please plan to join us for the opening reception. 6-9pm on Friday April 10th, 2009.

More information and complete show details coming soon.

Satellite Gallery Opening: Dollar Menu

Cold Coffee Media and Satellite Gallery announces Dollar Menu, a National Juried show opening on Friday, July 11. The concept for this show was for artists to create pieces made from dollar store items or utilize imagery of the dollar in the work they entered. The result is a curious collection of diverse work that demonstrates the varied interpretations of the guidelines. The variety of work also illustrates the uniqueness of each individual artist’s response to the task of creating work that expresses their opinions of the national and global economies, consumerism and disposable commodities.

Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival

La Grande Summer Festival, Crossing the Blues
It has been a while since we posted... been pretty busy rooting ourselves into the community and encouraging revolution. Had the opportunity to work with the city of La Grande and other great orginazations in creating a signature art and cultural event for La Grande and Northeastern Oregon. There will be music, theatre, art, film, farmer's market, food and vendors, a triathalon and more.

We have just launched the website and encourage you all to get involved. Jump over to www.crossingtheblues.com and see what is going on. The festival will be help August 22 and 23 right downtown here in La Grande. Sign up for the newsletter so you can keep updated on bands, foods, contents, good times and more. You can help sponsor, donate to, or just participate in the events.

These are all things that can help our community grow and develop a rich appreciation for the artists and musicians that help keep our brains sane and encourage economic growth in our beautiful historic downtown. Please make it out to the fedtival and keep yourself in the loop...

Dreamt of a waitress named "BETTY"

I call it "WORLBLING".

Last night - after hosting a small reception for Thursday's Art Walk in La Grande, and after a brief visit to the Long Branch, then after watching "The Snowman" with family and friends I found myself hard asleep.

I dreamt of a waitress named "BETTY" who was present to take my order. There was no menu - the menu was my mind - creative mind - and the kitchen was stalked with all the right ingredients for whatever it is I wanted to manifest. I thought for a moment and asked Betty, "what do you recommend?"...to which she replied...

"To the talking tickers of time, the dancers of destiny, the fiery faeries of fate, to the frequent flyers of fantasy, the dreamers of desire, to the tip-toed Tally-Hoers who temp the tempest of all...
May I offer you the pancakes."

I call it "WORBLING" - Information has been downloaded...although conscious - not yet.

Here's what we did before 9am today:
